Understand that MCU's with CCS, are really a bad idea...They really are not the way to work with the CCS compiler.

Newer chips like the 18FxxQ43 have a Vectored Interrupt Controller.

Then I remembered I made some 'controllers' using the 8052/BASIC and INTEL had an XBY command to access the EPROM. You could also CALL and run 'subroutines' from in there.

Hmmm, sounds like the U64 might be the safer option.

[PS - I know the SiLabs chips: for me though the PIC peripherals look a lot more capable and will make up for a slower CPU clock.]
