You can't easily.
Break your delay up. So have say 10*0.1 second delays and test after each.

You have the question of what you mean by 'active'. Pulled low?. Pulled high?.
Something like:
if (input(the_pin_you_want==1))
break;
If that is done inside a 'while', ... |
