Pls help, ICD U40 programmer can not detect the target board
PostPosted: Wed Jul 22, 2009 5:47 am     Reply with quote

Why my ICD U40 can not detect all the pic microchip (like 18F4520) controller that I have?
I have diagnosed my programmer with the newest CCSLOAD software, and it passed all the test, what should I do?

Hello

Check with scope those lines :

RB7 - ICSPDAT - PGD
RB6 - ICSPCLK - PGC

If you see them on the scope - your programmer is OK
but if it still not working you have bigger problem.

Some of the programmer don't see the clock signal on the line.

You need to open the programmer and check them, on the board.

(I had this problem - and I fixed it).
