Compiler Download |

I just purchased the PCWH IDE and chose the delivery via download, I received an email notification that the transaction went through, but no link or info to download my software.
Do I need to wait for someone to review the order or something?
Any Ideas?

First of all please be aware this is not CCS support. If you
look in the upper right corner of the web page it tells you this
is a user group NOT monitored by CCS. To get official support
you need to send a message to [email protected].
Now, to answer your question, you will get a email from CCS customer
support with the assigned user ID you need to download the software.
They don't work at night and are usually pretty good about this so they
should contact you sometime tomorrow with the info you need.

Ya, Ive emailed support several times this week as I was sorting out which compiler to buy, they have been prompt and courteous.
Glad to see this group is active, Im new to PICs, but have a long history w/Motorola 16 bit uC's. No doubt Ill bee looking for alot of help as the PICs seem to have a much compacter instruction set than Im accustomed to.

By the way, is there any PIC that offers a fuzzy instruction set?

You should be able to use your reference number to download the compiler from the website. If you do not have a referrence number, contact ccs sales. |

No. For the PIC, fuzzy logic is a function supported via
programming/compiler and takes various forms. There are some special
processors out there specifically adapted to fuzzy logic but I am not aware of
any PIC (or other embedded controller) that currently supports it at the
hardware level. Someone out there may prove me wrong... :-)

Motorolla, now Freescale, s12 uC's have a 4 instruction fuzzy set. Very ez and powerful. Its nice because at the assembly level it takes far less resources than doing it in software. Makes critically damping control systems a breeze. Biggest problem w/thse chips tho is that they offer very limited package options, 80+ pin LQFPs, unless your using an eval board your pretty limited in prototyping.
