MPLAB build fail with simple prog

MPLAB build fail with simple prog

Build from Mplab 6.5 with below gives the following error:-

Clean: Deleting intermediary and output files.
Clean: Done.
Executing: "C:\App\prog\pic\PICC\Ccsc.exe" 925941sw.c +FM
No Errors
Skipping link step. Not all sources built successfully.
BUILD FAILED: Wed Jul 07 16:47:52 2004


#include "16F87.h"

/*------------------------------------------------------------------*/
void main(void)
/*------------------------------------------------------------------*/
{

}

Strange, isn't it since there is nothing to link. Any suggestions to what may be wrong?

You have the MPLAB setup wrong. In the 'language tool' selection, there is an option for 'CCS C Compiler', and a second one for 'CCS C Compiler for PIC12/14/16/18'. If you select the first of these, you get the error you are seeing. Select the second, and it works. You need to have run the 'CCSC /setup' option to get the second shown...
