Well if you are looking for portability then okay, if not, stick with the electric. It works better.

I have used the butane ones for occasional field repairs, but I prefer my electric (Metcal SP200). For one thing I can leave it on all day without it hurting itself or running out of gas. Also the butane doesn't have ESD protection built in. The electrics have true temperature control, not just power control. _________________ The search for better is endless. Instead simply find very good and get the job done.
