Using the fuses-directive to enable the power-up-timer
PostPosted: Fri Aug 25, 2006 2:59 am     Reply with quote

I use a PIC18F4420 and want to enable the power-up-timer.
Im not sure, which is the correct parameter to use with the #fuses-directive to enable this power-up-timer.
In the 18F4420-header file I cant find a parameter like for example PWRT or NOPWRT.
Can anybody help ?

Do you have the PCW compiler, or just the command line version?. If the former, then select 'View', 'Valid fuses', and it'll show you what fuses your device supports. The ones you want, are 'PUT', and 'NOPUT'. For the command line version, the list of fuse 'names', is contained in 'fuses.txt', but there is no 100% reliable easy way, except trying them, to find out if your chip actually supports a particular fuse (the list in the header file, is only a 'guide list', and is often slightly wrong...). However it does show the PUT, and NOPUT fuses, for your chip.

Best Wishes
