We can only achieve a transfer rate of about 250kbytes/sec using the D2XX driver. I think this is quite low because FTDI claims a max speed of 1MBytes/sec.
Has anyone managed to achieve a higher transfer rate using FTDI chip?
Thanks,

Depends on how fast you can feed data into the FT245. The best I have gotten for an extended period of time from the FT245 is 1Mbyte/sec (ie 8Mbit/sec). Due to the overhead of the bulk mode transfers, you will never get 12Mbit/s of data through the pipe.
Also, keep in mind that the USB port is a SHARED resource and its capacity of 12Mbit/sec is shared by all devices attached to that hub (ie chipset inside the PC). With other activity and events occuring, the most you should plan on is 10Mbit/sec if everything were perfect. _________________ Rob Young
