V4.053 Debugger issues
PostPosted: Sun Sep 02, 2007 6:50 am     Reply with quote

Every few months I download and try V4.... Today 2 Sept. 07 I still can't use it. ( BTW thanks for the old style menus, those original graphic tool bars really did make me vomit )

In the old PCWh I used to be able to double click the breakpoint and the editor would take me to that line of code. In V4 that feature appears to be disabled or removed or worse "hidden"

If I start a new session and set a break point the debugger wil stop on that breakpoint as expected.
If I accidentally set another break point it appears as if it becomes the new breakpoint, however the original breakpoint is still highlighted and using the (-) (i.e. remove breakpoint) it does not remove the original breakpoint.
Also the debugger does not stop at the old original breakpoint...

Doing a Reset (R) does not set the CPU to it's power on default settings.
This may be a feature that can be enabled or not... I sure wished they did not "fix" things that are not broken.

Net result: V4 IDE is still useless.

So back to V3.249 and the old PCWH ... It's been at least 14 months since I purchased V4 and recently the upgrade for D but I still have not been able to compile old working code.

As a comment, you can run V4, using the V3 IDE. Just setup a directory, copy V3 into it, and then substitute the V4 compiler.

Best Wishes
