I tried several days to install it, but I didn't succeed. I found the version 2.61, although I wished an older version.
There was the same error every time: need .NET Framework a certain version.
I installed only .NET Framework first version. Every time I tried to install another version, there was the following error:
"Windows cannot install this feature"
I followed many advices on the NET, but none worked.
In the Windows featuring from the Control panel there is no selection for .NET framework.
I activated the Windows updates, but it was useless.
I am looking for a simple way to write a PIC with a Pickit2 hardware and I have only a tablet with Windows 8.1
Tablet works well with pk2cmd command line.
I tested with program for dsPIC30F2020 and it worked fine.
However you do not have all the facilities of Pickit2. For example you do not have serial analyzer or logic analyzer.
I tried with
--disable driver signature enforcement windows 8.1 tablet--
But no effect.
I had the old version already installed MPLAB 8.70, because the tablet does not have a lot of memory, I have a 16GB card.
Errors that gave me were-
Initializing PICkit 2 version 0.0.3.63
Found PICkit 2 - Operating System Version 2.32.0
Target power not detected - Powering from PICkit 2 ( 5.00V)
PKWarn0003: Unexpected device ID: Please verify that a PIC18F452 is correctly installed in the application. (Expected ID = 0x420, ID Read = 0x0)
PKWarn0003: Unexpected device ID: Please verify that a PIC18F452 is correctly installed in the application. (Expected ID = 0x420, ID Read = 0x0)
I used PIC12F675 project !!
I modified the project for PIC12F675.

W8, normally has .net framework 4.5 installed, and 3.5 disabled.
This prevents you from installing these. The answer is normally instead to turn them on.
Control panel.
Search for 'turn Windows features on or off'.
There should be an option for .Net framework 3.5.
Enable it.
Now if you are saying this is missing, then this would normally imply that the files have been removed (they come as part of 4.5). This is sometimes done as a security measure on some installs. If this is the case then you need to use the group policy editor:

Try the linked to guide first, and then if necessary the rest of this article. |
