problem with an error |

When I compile my code, it keeps on having 1 error and the error message is the following: *** Error 100 "nRF905&PIC16F690.c" Line 5(5,55): USE parameter value is out of range Not a number: 960055=5553=53. And line 5 is the following: #use rs232(baud=9600, xmit=PIN_B7, rcv=PIN_B5, bits=8) and I am using the pic16f690 microcontroller. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? |

Post a short complete test program that shows the problem.
Example:
Code: | #include <16F690.h>
#fuses INTRC_IO, NOWDT, NOBROWNOUT, PUT, NOMCLR
#use delay(clock=8000000)
#use rs232(baud=9600, xmit=PIN_B7, rcv=PIN_B5, ERRORS)
//=============================
void main()
{
char c;
printf("Start \n\r");
while(1)
{
c = getc();
putc(c);
}
} |
Also post your compiler version. |

Also, a 'comment'.
The numbers after the error, are the line and column numbers where the compiler is 'seeing' the error. In this case column 55. The #use r232 statement posted, is only 53? (only counted quickly) characters long. I'd suspect the error is being seen at the end of line, and probably reflects a typing 'silly' somewhere in the line. Possibly a hyphen, not an under-bar, in a pin name, a full stop rather than a comma, etc.. Even possiblyy a 'hidden character' (there are some keycodes that generate 'non visible' characters - this used to be a 'annoy people' trick, with a line that appeared perfect, yet would give a syntax error).

Thank you all for your replies, I have solved the problem. I had a similar line in my header file and that is what was causing the problem. |
