SPI Slave Select Mode on 18Fxxx

I understand from errata that the 18Fxxx series has trouble receiving SPI data when in slave select mode. Is this indeed an issue? If so, I am leaning towards using 16F series in my new multiprocessor design.

Any input/confirmation is appreciated.
