1) design project
2) buy PIC and GLCD
3) burn PIC and test
re:1 ) I have NO idea WHAT you expect it to do so can't help with choice of PIC or GLCD but PIC should have MORE memory, pins, and peripherals than just the 'bare minimum'.
GLCD code can be very big, so more EEPROM, RAM is needed compared to other displays. Read the comments of the GLCD driver, choose a module with that 'chipset'.
Choose the GLCD and note WHAT the power supply is !! If it's a 3 volt device, select a 3 volt PIC (xxLFyyyy). This way NO additional parts are need to properly interface the PIC and GLCD.
Do NOT use Proteus! It has serious flaws and faulty DRCs, use REAL Hardware. ALL 'projects' designed using Proteus and presented here do NOT work if constructed following Proteus schematics. NONE.
Once you know what you want to do THEN we can help select a PIC/GLCD.

HDM64GS12 128*64
ex_glcd.c
Honestly anything larger, is not really suited to the PIC. |

I have done 320x240x8 bit with a 33ep pic. Only full screen was noticeably slow at 3/4 of a second. If you print in sections it works ok. Don't even think a slower device will work at that resolution. The 33ep are bare minimum. |
