hi friends,
I have Leadtek LR9101 modules. I connect the GPS modules as per for datasheet circuit digram. When on first time is take 22 min to fix or lock the signal and show the longitude and latitude value. After some time I remove the power supply for 10 min and then connect the power supply to the GPS module once again. Second time also take 20 min to fix or lock the signal and show the longitude and latitude value. I don't know what is problem make this delay every time. Give me some ideas to solve the problem.

What are you using for an antenna and where are you trying to achieve lock/ (inside, outside, around tall buildings, etc)?

I've never used those modules, so take what follows with a grain of salt....
Do these modules have some onboard memory? Do they "remember" their last location fix when powered up? Do they have an internal RTC? If not, any GPS receiver will take several minutes to establish a definite fix if it doesn't have a general idea of the current time and a rough idea of where it is.
If it's possible to......"preload"......the module upon powerup with the current time/date and a general location fix, then it will lock much faster. |
