If you have a problem with a PIC pin, always read the PIC data sheet
before asking us about it.

Here is the 18F4550 data sheet:

Go to this section:

It's in the Device Overview section, near the front of the data sheet.
Find the section that describes pin C5. Look at the capabilities of pin C5.
Does the data sheet say it can be an i/o pin ?
