The RTC's backup power is a CR2032. When I attach my USB and read the date/time from the terminal, the data is ok. The RTC is powered by the main supply now, I will change it to get the power from the PIC.

As for the regulator, I am going to check if the PIC will be ok with a 6V (4x1,5V AA batteries) supply, and If there is not going to be a problem, I will just remove the regulator.. I need to check it in the datasheet.

For the i2c line I still don't know what to do. I get the right data with WDT128 but it gets frustrated with WDT32768. It doesn't make any sense..
