MS5607 Altimeter - Need help porting Atmel code to CCS
PostPosted: Mon Jun 03, 2013 10:22 am     Reply with quote

Hi
I'm tying to compile this program (original for Atmel Atmega644p) without success. AN 520 from MEASUREMENT.
I would like use the pic 18F25K80 in I2C mode.
Compiler version 4.132
Thanks in advance for your help.

//! @brief This C code is for starter reference only. It is written for the
//! MEAS Switzerland MS56xx pressure sensor modules and Atmel Atmega644p
//! microcontroller.

Classic problem. Data sizes.

In CCS, an 'int', is the default size the chip works with, so an int8. In most other C's, it is an int16.
If you look at 'cmd_prom' for example, it is returning an int16 value, but is declared to return an 'int'. Hence won't work in CCS. Same applies to 'long', which is an int32, but an int16 in CCS.
You could either use #type to redefine the sizes, or just change all the references.
Code:

#type SIGNED
#type INT=16, LONG=32

Might get close.

Best Wishes
