Did you want to do it all in PIC or use a Touch Screen Chip like ADS7843 ?

Using the ADS7843 is easy. Then comes the question what do you want to do with the touch screen.

Several designs emulate a mouse, other use simple "Soft Zones" to control turn key appications.

I did a design for Soft Zones, sorry I can't publish the code as someone else paid me to write it for them, which means I don't own it !
However it was as simple as handling the interrupt from the AD7843 and converting the data to X,Y values. In the design I did, the data ended up in the PC via a CAN bus connection.
