16x2 Lcd displaying nothing with PIC 18F4550

Hello everyone
I'm working in a project that is similar to this

I re created the same schematic using ISIS and used the same code given but it's not working, the LCD is blank .. I dont know why
can anyone help me with this ?

Well if your schematic is the same as the one shown in your post of course it won't work!
Basic simple 'Electronics101' hardware errors. I gave up at 10 critical errors.
Even if the code is correct, it will NEVER work with that hardware.

Can you please help me correct these errors ..

Temtronics is talking about real hardware. Your schematic is missing
the crystal circuit for the PIC. It's missing the power and ground
connections for the PIC. Isis doesn't care about these things. It will
run OK without them. But real hardware does care.

Your schematic is also missing power, ground, and the contrast
connections to the LCD. Isis may not care about these.

also LCD module is 'wired' for 8 bit mode but program has 4 bit mode driver.
not too sure what happens to LCD when connected/run in that 'mode'.

also vusb not connected properly, so USB comm will not work...

I changed my schematic and my code and now it's working on ISIS, and that's all what I needed.
