CCS USB Development Kit
PostPosted: Fri Jun 18, 2004 12:17 pm     Reply with quote

Has anyone got this development kit to work?

OScope.exe can't ever connect to the USB driver.

hiddemo.exe works, but the bar graph of the AD reading just moves about aimlessly and bears no correlation to the potentiometer position on the development board.

The drivers installed for the board are:
HID-complaint device
USB Human Interface Device

I've tried attempting to update these drivers with BulkUSBDemo.inf but this makes no difference.

I'm running Windows 2000. I haven't recompiled anything yet.

Sorry, the proper name for the board is "CCS USB Prototyping Board"

I see someone else has had the identical issue: http://www.ccsinfo.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=19028&highlight=usb+prototyping+board

The reply to that message does not resolve the issue for the BulkUSBDemo.

I've just posted a message to CCS support.

I have investigated and solved the problem myself.

The default firmware on the PIC16F877 is the example ex_usb_hid.c.

To get the BulkUSBDemo to work the example ex_usb_scope.c needs to be compiled and programmed into the PIC instead.

No mention of this anywhere in the documentation.
