OT: multinode CAN cabling/schematic |

Can anyone set me straight?
I want to connect a multinode CAN system with about 6 nodes (not sure yet). I know how to connect two nodes, but how would I connect 3? If I see how to connect 3, I'll have my answer for 6.
What's tripping me up are the termination resistors. I just need two, right? Sort of like this:

That's correct. The 120 ohm termination resistors go at each end of the
long cable, and the stubs for Node 3 and the other nodes should be as
short as possible. |

Just an additional note on cable lengths ... the length of the long 'spine' of the network is dependant upon the bit rate you are going to use (100 metres maximum @ 500Kbits/sec but usually no more than 40metres in practice), but the 'stubs' should be no longer than 1 metre long. _________________ Regards,
