Did you read my post ? I said:

The version will be a number such as 3.191, or 3.236, or 3.249, etc.
Look at the top of the .LST file to find the version number.
The .LST file is in your project folder. |
Because of this, and the responses to this thread by people it doesn't
involve, and also because this thread just goes on and on about an
extremely simple problem that could have been solved in 5 posts, tops,
I have had it. I am bailing on this thread. Finito. |

PCM Programmer, please dont be like that, im so new to this its unreal. I only want a chip for a simple task and thats it. its like somebody talking to a non mechanic about cars and piston valves etc. they wouldnt have a clue!
When I replied with that number above I was at work and still am at work, I did read the post correctly but the software is on my home computer, I do not have internet at home! I got that version number above from earlier in the thread, that why i wrote "if it helps"
I will get the number from the .lst file tonight.
Ive just downloaded the datasheets on my work computer and will try and print them later when the boss goes home.
I am listening to you guys, just certain circumstances make things slightly difficult for me, ie no internet at home (waiting for broadband to be connected).
Thanx |

Pin 1 has a 5v 78L05 connected to it with a 1uf cap and a 10nf, feeding the reg is a 12v well regulated supply. electronics side is fine!
Dont worry, im gonna do some reading up and if I still fail then I will be back
Thanx |

How do we know the electronics are "fine". So you think they are but obvisouly they are not since the circuit is not working. Now it could be the compiler not setting up the chip correctly but of course I guess you didn't take my suggestion and set it up yourself. Like PCM said, this thread is way too long for such a simple task. We don't mind helping people, obviously we enjoy it or we wouldn't be helping others. But come on, for someone who has built electronic circuits, stuff code in them, and made them work, you are obviously struggling with the most basic of a program. This is about equal to a Hello World program. You need to educate yourself by doing a bunch of reading and take another stab at it. |
