Not exactly a data sheet. More a product overview...
How are you connecting to this?. If you are connecting via the 'debug header' to the PIC, then you do not need any Max chip. The connections here are TTL serial, which will connect directly to the PIC. Adding a MAX232 or similar, will result in a signal inversion, and more voltage being put into the unit, than it is designed to take...

You are right. I've just connected the IMU output directly to C6, C7 instead of passing thru MAX235 and it works.
